Whitey's Lindy Hoppers perform the greatest Lindy dance sequence ever filmed in "Hellzapoppin" (1941, Unviversal Pictures).
Some people just refuse to believe that most of the dynamic Salsa moves you see on the dance floor (at least in Southern California) every night not only did not come from Cuba, but did not even originate in Salsa. And, they were probably done for the first time in some other dance over 50 years ago.
Frankie Manning, who dances in this clip, is acknowledged as the creator of the first dance aerial (not lift, aerial -- there is a difference), many of which were performed for the first time in this movie.
A blast from the past. Enjoy!
